Uganda’s demand for affordable and sustainable housing is growing rapidly, especially with the recent Housing Finance Bank Zimba Challenge, which is encouraging innovative, low-cost housing solutions nationwide.

Because of this rising demand, Smeaton Constructions Uganda is opening new opportunities for skilled professionals who want to contribute to building better homes for families across the country.

We are inviting qualified and dedicated individuals to apply for various positions in the affordable housing and community construction projects we are rolling out this year.

🧱 Available Positions

1. Site Engineers (Affordable Housing Projects)

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising construction sites
  • Managing daily project activities
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and engineering compliance
  • Preparing progress reports
  • Coordinating with architects, designers, and workers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering
  • At least 2 years in building construction
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

2. Builders / Masons

Responsibilities:

  • Brickwork and blockwork
  • Plastering and finishing
  • Roofing and foundation work
  • Assisting site engineers with structural tasks

Requirements:

  • Experience in residential or low-cost housing
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

3. Draftsmen & Architectural Designers

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing affordable home designs
  • Creating drawings & 3D visualizations
  • Supporting the Zimba Challenge housing concepts

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Architectural Drafting
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, ArchiCAD or Revit

4. Project Assistants (Community Housing Projects)

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting engineers and project managers
  • Managing on-site documentation
  • Supporting community outreach during affordable housing programs

Requirements:

  • Certificate or diploma in any construction-related field
